We like our charity events with a side of chaos – and this one came piping hot.
Last week, our office turned into a makeshift patisserie for a TP-style Bake-Off, all in support of Portsmouth-based gallery and charity Aspex and their amazing Generate programme: an initiative that supports individuals and carers affected by early-stage dementia. This cause is particularly close to our hearts, as one of our account managers shared how Generate made a huge difference to his dad, Ray, during the early stages of his Alzheimer’s diagnosis. It was only fitting that we picked up the mixing bowls in his honour.
What went down?
Let’s just say everyone brought their A-game. From cakes and cookies to sausage rolls, our kitchen turned into a sweet (and slightly competitive) battlefield of flour, sugar, and pride. There were showstoppers. There were soggy bottoms. There were very full stomachs. But more importantly, there was a cause that brought us all together.
The results? Deliciously generous
Together, we raised £182 through cake sales alone and in true Twisted fashion, we matched it. That brought our total donation to £364 to help Aspex continue their incredible work through Generate.
About Generate
The Generate programme provides creative, inclusive activities for people with early-stage dementia and their carers; offering a vital space for connection, self-expression, and joy through art. You can read more about the programme here.
A huge thank you
To everyone who baked, ate, donated (or did all three). Your generosity and team spirit made a meaningful difference to a local charity doing life-changing work. And to Ray, we baked this one for you!
